I’m Public Access and Web Officer for Devon Libraries, which sounds like a strange job title, but basically means I look after all the computers available for public use in 50 branch libraries. The other side of my work is to develop use of the web to deliver and promote library services to our customers. So pretty exciting stuff I think!
I’m also a member of CILIP (Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals) and I’m on the committee of the PPRG (Publicity and Public Relations Group (of CILIP)). I believe libraries have something to offer everyone …but not everyone knows this yet – so there’s still a lot of work to do.
I’m lucky enough to have lived and worked in Devon all my life – and can’t imagine why anyone would want to go and live or work anywhere else! I’m married and have two older children. My interests include – enjoying all that Devon has to offer, coast, moors, beautiful towns and cities, quaint little villages and hamlets. Super cream teas (watch that waistline!), enjoying art, culture, theatre, catching-up with friends and family (on and off –line)… the list is endless!
